He said that Seraiki and Punjabi must be introduced as medium of education and correspondence and a regional centre of Punjab Institute of Culture, Art and languages in Multan be established.
A television centre be set up to promote the Seraiki culture, folk singers, artists and intellectuals, while duration of Seraiki programmes be increased on Radio Pakistan, Multan and Bahawalpur, he added.
The SQRC decided to organise a conference on February 21 in Multan to mark the International Mother Language Day.
It also criticised hypocrtic policy of Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi regarding Seraiki-belt, and it demanded launching of mega uplift schemes for the remotest regions in the province.
Earlier, the SQRC held its extensive session here with Taj Gopang in chair, and a large number of political workers; intellectuals belonged to South Punjab far-flung areas attended the session
Speaking on the occasion, SQRC Convener Taj Gopang stressed the need for promoting Seraiki language and establishing professional colleges include separate agriculture college, health and engineering universities to combat future challenges.
He also demanded the creation of Cadet College in Multan.
Gopang criticised finding of arsenic level in Multan girls' primary schools at dead level and demanded of the Punjab government for taking special measures to prevent from increasing rate of arsenic in drinking water.
SQRC Secretary General Haider Javed Syed criticised the establishment of cantonments in Balochistan and demanded of the government to include local population in Gawadar projects.
He demanded national autonomy to Seraiki belt according to the spirit of 1940 resolution and creation of Seraiki province.
The SQRC session also demanded proper share for Seraiki people in federal and provincial jobs according to population size, flow of mega projects towards Seraiki-belt and lion's share from cotton sales tax.
It criticised some people in district Rahim Yar Khan for fanning ethnic issues.
